Step-by-Step Instructions for Patients

At Zocdoc, protecting personal information, including personal health information, is a top priority.

To help you add an additional layer of protection to the Zocdoc sign-in process, we’ve pulled together a step-by-step guide on how you can set up Multi-Factor Authentication (“MFA”) — a process that requires both a password and an additional verification step, like, in the case of Zocdoc’s MFA, a code sent to your phone — for your existing Zocdoc account.

  1. Start by visiting https://www.zocdoc.com and, if you are not already logged in, clicking on the Patients ‘Log in’ link in the upper right-hand corner of the page. If you are logged in already, you can skip to Step 3.

2. Log in to your Zocdoc account.

3. Using the pull-down menu on the upper right corner of the screen, click on ‘Settings’.

4. Click on ‘Login and Security’, on the left-hand side of the screen.

5. Click the ‘Turn on’ link next to Two-Step Verification (Two-Step Verification is another name for Multi-Factor Authentication).

(Please note that if you have not previously verified a mobile phone number for your account, you will need to do so by clicking on the link in the Mobile phone number section of this page in order to proceed.)

6. Enter the six-digit code sent to your phone number in the Verification code box.

7. Success! Now you can even more securely use Zocdoc to find in-network doctors, instantly book in-person or virtual appointments, read reviews from verified users, get reminders for upcoming appointments and preventive checkups, and more.

While setting up MFA is optional, we hope it empowers patients to better protect their passwords and data. If you would like to read more about how Zocdoc keeps your information secure, please visit our Data & Privacy page.
